THE MOST OVERPROTECTIVE LIFEGUARD EVER
Imagine trying to relax in a quiet jacuzzi after a long day.
You sit down.
You enjoy the warm water.
You stretch out for a moment.
Then suddenly, a lifeguard starts blowing a whistle at you like you are causing a national emergency.
That is exactly the ridiculous situation at the center of SNL's unforgettable “Jacuzzi Lifeguard” sketch.
Jim Carrey plays an extremely intense lifeguard who watches every single movement made by Will Ferrell's character.
The sketch originally aired on May 18, 1996, during Jim Carrey's first time hosting Saturday Night Live.
WILL FERRELL JUST WANTS TO RELAX

Will Ferrell's character begins the scene simply enjoying the jacuzzi.
There is nothing dangerous happening.
There is no emergency.
Nobody is drowning.
Nobody is even causing trouble.
But Jim Carrey's lifeguard immediately decides that the situation needs serious supervision.
He warns Ferrell about roughhousing in the jacuzzi.
Ferrell is understandably confused.
The more he tries to explain that he is simply relaxing, the more aggressively Carrey watches him.
That contrast becomes the foundation of the entire sketch.
JIM CARREY TAKES THE JOB WAY TOO...
