THIS IS THE MOST SAVAGE SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE OPENING IN YEARS AND YOU NEED TO SEE IT RIGHT NOW
Saturday Night Live has been doing political cold opens for decades.
But every once in a while.
They drop something so absurd.
So uncomfortably accurate.
That the internet simply cannot handle it.
The latest cold open featuring Kavanaugh.
Hegseth.
And Patel.
All sitting in a bar.
Is exactly that moment.
The sketch takes three of the most controversial figures in modern American politics.
Throws them into a dimly lit bar.
And lets the chaos unfold naturally.
The result is pure comedic violence.
THE PREMISE IS SO SIMPLE IT IS GENIUS
A bar.
Three men.
A mountain of unspoken tension.
And a bartender who looks like he regrets every life choice that led him to this shift.
The sketch wastes zero time setting up the absurdity.
Kavanaugh walks in with that familiar performative confidence.
Hegseth follows with the energy of a man who just discovered he left the stove on at home.
And Patel slides in like a villain from a low budget spy thriller.
From the very first exchange.
The audience knows they are in for something special.
The writing is sharp.
The pacing is relentless.
And the impressions are...
